The Grand Factor

Britain's Got Talent really opens your eyes to talent. I think what makes it so special is that every contender is an everyday person like you and me.

What I like particularly about 2 Grand is that the girl Sally is in my opinion an inspiration to youngsters. At this modern time, there are so few people who treasure their grandparents and have such strong relationships with them - more so for someone at Sally's age. She truly is an inspiration and I hope by this people appreciate their grandparents more.

I love Tofu.

Because I watched this on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

And really you can't give much stock to what's being said on Jimmy Kimmel Live so I have no idea how true this is.

Apparently, a woman in Colorado who is a total die-heart vegan wanted to have her license plate as ILVTOFU. An alliengence to her lovable tofu I guess.

Apparently, (and I say apaprently because really, it's apparent) the DMV would not allow her to carry that license plate.

I didn't get it either.

I read it as I LV TOFU as in she loves tofu but the DMV reads it as I LV TO F U.

Wow. The DMV (or Jimmy Kimmel) is more imaginative than I thought.

On another unrelated note, Pei Pei swears she will call me at some ungodly hour tomorrow so I can go watch the Idol results live at her house.... Like what??? If you want to know the result of Pei Pei's insistance vs Pin Pin's sleep.... stay tuned.

I have a feeling sleep will win.

There! I've updated!

Fiction Recommendation: The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman essentially is a children's book. Yet, by the very sound of the title and the illustration on the cover, you can sort of guess that it's not anything light and fluffy.

Honestly, I have never been a fan of Neil Gaiman. I thought his adult fiction was boring, unexciting and very, very confusing and dull. However, I have always been a big fan of children's literature so naturally, this attracted by attention.

I love children's literature because you can be dark and scary and coat every single word with double meanings and yet, it will still remain essentially innocent. And this is exactly just that.

The book is story of a boy named Nobody Owens who is raised in a graveyard by ghosts when his family is murdered. He is adopted by an old ghost couple and becomes the ward of Silas - an honour guard. As he grows older, he starts to realize that there is more to his guardian than just what appears on the outside. He also starts to realize his role in the story and why he was brought to the graveyard.

The story is so very interesting, quirky, dark and deep and yet, somehow, light and fun. You definitely will get more and more intrigued by the darkness and suspense building up in the pages as you go on.

It's not something normal and it's not something you come across every day so I definitely recommend it. The book is very thin - easy to read and would make a good bedtime story.

Though for some reason, I'm not going to let anyone below 15 touch it. Much too dark for a supposed 'children's' story.

Funimation, FMA Brotherhood and their region lock

In all honestly, I get why Funimation region locks their website. With the region lock, already there are so many pirated versions online already. And having been in America, I do recognize that a majority of Americans do have a stronger moral sense on piracy than the rest of the world... BUT still, I think Funimation could really get rid of it...

IF Funimation made FMA brotherhood available here, I honestly, would watch it there trying my hardest to show my support for them. After all, it is rather kind of them to get it the episodes out and I would like to show them I appreciate their efforts. Plus, I might not have a good moral sense when it comes to piracy but IF it is whithin my capabilities, I try my hardest to go with the original official stuff. I recognize the need for revenue and all that. I truly do.

I guess in some ways I really can understand why Funimation is reluctant to let anyone out of the US on but really, I think they would earn so much more if they let other regions in...
